Upcoming Blackwood Events

On the run up to the official launch of Blackwood (less than a month away *wibbles*) Gwenda Bond will be out and about at various events and locations where you’ll have the opportunity to chat to her and get your copy of Blackwood signed.

First up is a pre-release signing on August 16th at Duck’s Cottage Downtown Books – this is at Manteo, N.C. so on Roanoke Island where the actual novel is set. This is going to be an exciting chance to explore the locations written about in Blackwood at the same time as getting your hands on an early copy of the book, and will be taking place between 1pm and 4pm.

Next Gwenda will be signing as part of the Angry Robot Author Showcase on August 31st at 7pm – this also features Kim Curran signing Shift! Come to The Book Cellar in Chicago IL.

If you’re one of the many who are attending Worldcon, then Gwenda will be around at various panels and signings and readings – as will a number of other Strange Chemistry authors (look out for a post that details all their movements a little closer to the time!)

On September 5th at 7pm Malaprop’s Bookstore in Asheville NC are hosting an event called Unexpected Heroines – as well as Gwenda, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Beth Revis, Meagan Spooner, Sarah Maas and Susan Dennard. It should be a great evening!

Finally (for now!) the Morris Book Shop in Lexington KY is taking on the official Blackwood Launch Party! There will be doughnuts and drinks, giveaways and general merriment, and it all kicks off on 8th September from 6pm.

Lots to look forward to, and plenty of opportunities to get your hands on a signed copy of Blackwood, which, according to Publishers Weekly is “an engaging mythology and mystery involving alchemy, curses, and past lives.” You don’t want to miss it!

Sounds like Ms Bond will be taking the country by storm for the Blackwood coming out shindig. After the glowing reviews of the novel, I foresee long lines at the autograph table. Will await party pix.

Sounds like there are some amazing events lined up, as well as visits to some great cities. Malaprops is one of my favorite bookstores in the country. I can’t wait to hear how the events go! Have fun!
