News about Strange Chemistry

As you will be aware, Angry Robot Books has a history of innovation and we continue to go from strength to strength. We’re constantly trying out new concepts and new ideas, and we continue to publish popular and award-winning books. Our YA imprint Strange Chemistry and our crime/mystery imprint Exhibit A have – due mainly to market saturation – unfortunately been unable to carve out their own niches with as much success.

We have therefore made the difficult decision to discontinue Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A, effective immediately, and no further titles will be published from these two imprints.

The core Angry Robot imprint is robust, however, and we plan to increase our output from 2 books a month, to 3. We have no plans to cancel any titles other than those of Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A.

That’s so sad. You’ll be missed, although I’ll read the Angry Robot titles with pleasure

[…] As many of you have heard, my publisher, Strange Chemistry, will be closing their doors. They have publicly confirmed they are cancelling all their yet to be released titles, which as you might guess, is pretty upsetting news for all their authors. Me included. […]

I really hate to read this. Strange Chemistry has been one of my favorite imprints that I knew I could turn to for quality YA. Stolen Songbird is one of my favorite reads for this year. This is a sad, sad day.

Please consider finishing Strange Chemistry series like Russalka Chronicles, even if the new books have to be by Angry Robot. Many books labeled YA are just as appealing to adult readers.

I didn’t know much about Strange Chemistry publishing, and came across Eliza Crewe’s “Cracked: The Soul Eaters” as I was looking for something to sink my imaginary teeth into. It’s such a shame to find out that there won’t be a second and third edition to the series, as I was very deeply engaged in this book, and I really hope that Ms. Crewe will find a way to continue the series. If anyone knows if and when she does get her next addition to the Soul Eaters series onto the bookshelves, please email me at alephcrimson@gmail.com . Thanks, everyone… and wishing much prosperity to Ms. Crewe and her endeavors in the realm of the Templars. Peace. =}
